In this chapter, we introduce torque sensors as an application product developed using our thin-film sensors on metal.

Torque sensors measure the reactive torque applied to various devices and units, enabling the detection of minute torque that is difficult to detect through current control of actuators and motors. At Nidec Components, we leverage our proprietary thin-film sensor technology on metal to provide high-performance torque sensors.

Our torque sensors are highly sensitive and rigid, offering excellent responsiveness. By installing them between the motor and output shaft, feedback control can be achieved for the torque applied to the motor, contributing to more flexible movements.

Additionally, by installing them in the driving or operational parts of equipment, real-time monitoring becomes possible, aiding in the automation and manpower reduction of factories, as well as predictive maintenance.

Built-In Redundant Digital Circuits

 

 

 
 
Our torque sensors feature a compact, thin, and hollow center while considering machinery safety standards (ISO 13849-1 Cat.3). They are equipped with dual independent digital circuits with self-check functions.
